The 2FIFTY way.
Named after the founder's childhood address number, 2FIFTY Clothing is a Brooklyn-based atelier built on craftsmanship, individuality, and purpose. Established in 2021, everything we create is made-to-order and produced in-house—no mass production, no outsourcing, no shortcuts. We focus on quality over quantity. Every piece is cut and sewn in our Brooklyn studio.
Yerr, it’s Jonas. I started 2FIFTY in 2021 during COVID, sewing masks for local hospitals that ran out of PPE. The atelier’s named after the street number where it all began—a reminder that everything’s crafted in-house, just like day one.
After working the Kidsuper 2019 Fashion Week show, I fell in love with sustainable fashion and upcycling. Now, we focus on custom-made garments, pattern cutting/sample construction, and repairs/alterations—all built to last. Every piece is cut, stitched, and finished in our Brooklyn studio, blending traditional tailoring with custom design for fits that actually fit. No mass production, no waste—just intentional craftsmanship.
Frequently Asked Questions
What makes 2FIFTY different from a regular tailor?
A regular tailor usually focuses on standard alterations. 2fifty does that, but we also approach clothing from a custom and creative construction mindset. We can alter, repair, rebuild, rework, customize, or create pieces from scratch. The goal is not just to “fix” clothing — it is to make the piece feel better, fit better, and make more sense for the person wearing it.
Do you make clothing from scratch?
Yes. We create custom clothing from the ground up, including one-of-one garments, personal pieces, statement items, wardrobe staples, and select designer or brand projects. The process usually starts with a conversation, references, measurements, fabric direction, and a clear plan before anything is cut or sewn.
Can I bring in a garment I already own?
Yes. A lot of our work starts with something someone already owns — jeans that need repair, a jacket that needs reshaping, pants that almost fit right, or a piece with sentimental value that deserves another life. We will review the garment, explain what is possible, and recommend the best direction.
What is the best way to start a project with 2FIFTY?
Start by reaching out with what you have: a garment, an idea, a reference, a repair need, a class request, or a sample project. From there, we will review the details, ask the right questions, explain what is possible, and guide you toward the right service.
Do you work with designers, artists, and small brands?
Yes. We work with designers, artists, and small brands on sample development, pattern cutting, first pieces, one-off pieces, and small-batch projects. This is especially helpful for people who have an idea but need help turning it into a real garment.
