ALTERATIONS/REPAIRS

WE REPAIR, RESHAPE, AND REFINE GARMENTS SO THEY FIT

BETTER, LAST LONGER, AND STAY IN YOUR ROTATION.

Keep the pieces that already mean something.

Not every garment needs to be replaced. Some pieces just need the right hands on them.

At 2fifty Clothing, we handle alterations and repairs with the same care we bring to custom garments. Whether it is denim that has worn in perfectly, pants that almost fit right, a jacket that needs adjusting, or a piece that deserves to be rebuilt instead of retired, we take the time to understand the garment and what you want it to become.

Our work is personal, practical, and detail-focused. The goal is not to make your clothing feel “fixed.” The goal is to make it feel natural again — like it belongs on you.

Whether you are bringing in a fabric you have been saving, recreating your favorite pair of pants, developing a sample for your brand, or rebuilding a piece that still matters to you, our goal is the same: to make the garment feel personal, functional, and built to last.

                  What we alter &  repair

Fit Alterations

For clothing that is close, but not quite right. We adjust hems, waists, sleeves, side seams, tapering, shaping, and overall fit so the garment works better on your body.

Denim & Everyday Repairs

For the pieces you actually wear. We repair denim, reinforce worn areas, patch holes, fix seams, replace buttons, and help extend the life of garments that already have character.

Specialty Garment Work

Some pieces need more than a quick alteration. We work on select leather, lined garments, designer pieces, vintage clothing, and rebuilds that require more attention, planning, and construction knowledge.

A thoughtful repair starts with understanding the piece.

Alterations and repairs are not one-size-fits-all. Every garment has its own construction, fabric, wear, and limits. We review the piece first, explain what is possible, and make sure the direction is clear before any work begins.

01 — Review the Garment

We look at the garment, the fit, the damage, or the area you want changed. We talk through what you want and what the garment will realistically allow.

 02 — Fitting or Inspection

For fit work, we may review the garment on the body. For repairs, we inspect the fabric, seams, stress points, and construction so we can choose the right approach.

03 — Quote & Approval

Once we understand the work, we provide a clear quote based on time, complexity, fabric, and construction. No work starts until the scope is approved.

04 — Alteration or Repair

The garment is adjusted, repaired, reinforced, or rebuilt with attention to fit, durability, and the original character of the piece.

05 — Final Review

Before the garment leaves the studio, we review the finish, fit, and repair quality so it is ready to wear again.

For clothing that deserves more than a quick fix.

We are not just trying to shorten a hem or close a seam. We care about how the garment fits, how it moves, how it was made, and how it will hold up after the work is done.

  • Alterations handled with a custom garment mindset
  • Denim, leather, vintage, and specialty repair experience
  • In-house construction knowledge, not just basic tailoring
  • Honest guidance on what can and cannot be done
  • Repairs that respect the original garment
  • A Brooklyn studio built around personal, hands-on work

                Pricing depends on the piece

Every alteration and repair is different. A simple hem is not the same as reshaping a lined jacket, repairing denim, working with leather, or rebuilding part of a garment.

Pricing depends on the fabric, construction, condition, complexity, and time required. After we review the piece, we will give you a clear quote before moving forward.

                   Questions before you start

How long do alterations or repairs take?

Timing depends on the garment and the work needed. Simple work may be quicker, while denim, leather, lined garments, or more detailed repairs may take longer. We will give you a timeline after reviewing the piece.

                                        Do I need an appointment?

Yes, appointments are recommended. This gives us time to review the garment, understand what you want, and make sure the work is possible before quoting it.

                                        Can you repair denim?

Yes. We repair denim, patch worn areas, reinforce stress points, adjust fit, and help extend the life of jeans, jackets, and other denim pieces.

                                       Can you work on leather?

Yes, depending on the garment and the repair needed. Leather requires a careful review before we confirm the work.

Can you make something fit exactly how I want?

We will get as close as the garment allows. Our goal is to improve the fit while respecting the structure and limits of the piece.

What we make

We specialize in hands-on garment work that is difficult to find off the rack: one-of-one pieces, denim and leather work, alterations, repairs, samples, and pattern development.

How custom work happens here

Good custom clothing is not rushed. We take the time to understand the project, measure properly, sample when needed, and refine the fit before final construction.

01

Consultation

We talk through the garment, references, fabric, fit, purpose, timeline, and budget so the project starts with clear direction.

02

Measurements in studio or at your home

Measurements can be taken in our Brooklyn studio or at your location when the project calls for it. The goal is a fit that works in real life, not just on paper.

03

Quote and project approval

After reviewing the details, we provide a quote based on construction time, materials, fittings, sampling, and complexity. Once approved, we move into production.

04

Sample or muslin fitting

For many custom garments, we create a sample first so the proportions, movement, and fit can be adjusted before the final fabric is cut.

05

Final construction and finishing

Your garment is cut, sewn, finished, and reviewed in-house with care for fit, durability, and the details that make the piece feel complete.

Why people come to 2fifty

Because custom clothing should feel different from buying something off the rack. It should be personal, collaborative, and built with a level of care you can see and feel.

  • Made-to-order in Brooklyn, NYC
  • Measurements in studio or at your home
  • Muslin samples before final construction
